I don’t understand people…
On Friday evening, I got into a minor accident outside of a restaurant/shopping center which would be confusing to describe to anyone that doesn’t know the area, especially online. Because of where the accident was, the police said they could not report the accident - it was on private property. Anyways, I’m not really sure who’s fault it is - it could have been mine despite the fact that I stopped and looked both ways before I started turning; it could have been his for not paying attention, turning the corner to fast, and I’m also pretty sure he wasn’t planning on stopping. I feel like I should also mention that the guy was a pizza driver from a pizza place known for their crazy drivers. The only damage on the guys car (from me - there were multiple other previous damages on the car) was on one of his headlights. The only damage on my car is a little scratching on my bumper.
I got a call from my insurance this morning saying the guy is claiming his car is inoperable and that he has sustained injuries! I would like to mention that, while the police were there, the guy was walking around and laughing with his other pizza workers who came over from their restaurant - obviously not injured. Also, the only damage I did was to one headlight! That does not make the car inoperable! The other damages on his car, including a large indent on the drivers door, shows that this sort of thing happens all the time to him apparently. There was some white marks on his bumper in the area where we hit, but my bumper is grey, so that’s not from me either.
I just don’t understand how people are so rude and scheming! I wasn’t even planning on making a claim, I was just going to call the insurance to let them know an accident happened, but now I’ve got to go through this whole process because some guy decided to be a jerk and make stuff up. Anyways, I just wanted to rant about that for a second…
